Here is the design we have currently for the kitchen. Things that are different from what we have now:
- 15" wide pantry to right of fridge w/ full extension drawers inside
- full depth over fridge cabinet 24' tall
- corner wall cabinet
- lazy Susan corner base cabinet
- cabinet with 4 drawers next to fridge (this is the one we already put together)
- wider island with two 30" base cabinets. Deep drawers on bottom and small drawers on top
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Also, we are still trying to decide what to do about counter tops. Full granite is too expensive. We are considering possibly Corian, Laminate, or some sort of tile, maybe granite or quartz or something. Suggestions? What do you like or dislike about the counter top you have now?

All I can say about countertops is I loved the laminated tops we put in the Rock Creek house and I hate the tile we have here! It's not flat, the grout gets dirty & chips out & the tiles chip. Not to mention if your house were to have any settling, the tiles/grout would separate. (Not that I'm speaking from experience or anything here.) Mom
I'm already jealous of your new kitchen! We love our tile, but mostly because I have a history of melting laminate counters...
Andy told me to say that only get tile if you get dark grout. He's right. Makes a big difference.
Why don´t you learn how to make cement counter tops? Looks sweet and modern. Then if it turns out good you can come do ours in the future, haha.
I like the layout. Any thoughts on moving the island to the right side of the kitchen so it backs up to the dinning area?
What is going on the island? A second, small sink is popular in the newer kitchens now days, so someone can prepare food there on a cutting board and wash in the sink, etc, without being in the way of the normal counter space.
Thats all I got for ideas. :)
Tile may not be the most user friendly.
I like Travis's idea on the concrete. Then once you have helped with his you can help me with mine.
Have you crazy guys seen all that goes into making concrete countertops? Those things are wicked.
